]]>Have you thought about sewing your own jacket and then shy away? How come sewing a jacket seems like an insurmountable task? So far, I have sewn several coats and jacket sewing patterns, and the final garments are some of my most loved and worn self-made garments in my wardrobe.
We have added a new Canvas Jacket Pattern to the Jacket pattern collection. Whether you are a beginner wanting to dip your toe into the world of sewing your own jacket, or you are already a jacket pro, I'm confident that the new Canvas Jacket sewing pattern will excite you.
The Canvas Jacket Sewing Pattern is a workwear-inspired style with a boxy and casual fit. It's perfect as an outerwear piece in transitional weather or a modern alternative to the classic cardigan for a day in the office. The Chunky topstitching and roomy patch pockets create a relaxed, timeless, rugged look that never goes out of style.
The jacket is suitable for all medium-weight woven fabrics such as cotton, linen, wool, or other fabrics that are comfortable to wear. Choose interfacing that works with the weight of the fabric. Choose the button size as indicated in the size spec. We LOVE the fabric from Danish Mind The Maker (the above jacket is made with their cotton / linen Twill), and UK based Merchant and Mills. Check out their fabulous sellection of canvas and heavy denim fabrics.
We love summer weather, but colder weather opens up many possibilities to layer things up and mix patterns and fabrics. Looking at the winter trends for AW22, I see classic coats and jackets are all over the place. The AW22 trends have a retro vibe with bright colors, large collars, and single or double-breasted silhouettes in faux fur, wool, and velvet fabrics.
We asked Byrd Wadhams of @yogabyrdsews to create an on trend look, and we are very excited about the result. She has been testing with WBM for a couple of years now, and we love her style and her color choices. Check her out on Instagram.
I was thrilled when I was asked to create an on-trend AW22 coat. I'm feeling this year's oversized vibe and decided to sew up the Women's Cocoon Coat. The Cocoon Coat has an enveloping single-breasted oversized round silhouette with a round shawl collar, raglan sleeves, and welt pockets.
Have you ever sewn a coat?
Constructing a fully lined coat is more challenging than making a shirt or dress. I've sewn bomber jackets and shackets, but this is my first fully-lined winter coat. Assembling the lining and outer shell was straightforward and took little time. I struggled with the welt pockets and attaching the hem to the lining. My sewing mantra is to "trust the process," and I persevered through the challenging parts. Needless to say, I'm thrilled with the result!
Do you want to create your own on-trend coat?
Making your own wardrobe allows you to affordably create or re-create a look. The price tag for a mid to high-end AW22 oversized fit wool coat is running $500 on the low end to over $2000. I dare say you can cut this price tag many times over, and the best part is you get to add your personality into the mix.
Let's talk Fabric Choices…
I am drawn to the bright colors I see everywhere this fall. I wanted a coat in a vibrant color. I see Hot pinks, bright reds, neon greens, and tribal and animal prints on the runway and in the high street shops. I found the perfect fabric for my coat at Minerva fabric shop, debated three fabric choices: wool, faux leather, or suede, and landed on a vibrant red Boiled Wool Viscose for the shell and a red paisley Taffeta for the lining.
Three Ways to Style Your Cocoon Coat…
Comfort wear is my natural go-to. Hoodies and layers are in this year, and my favorite look is to pair the Cocoon coat with jeans and a hoodie or a t-shirt. I paired the t-shirt look with animal print high-top sneakers and the hoodie with bright red sneakers. The Cocoon coat would also go great with turtlenecks and chunky sweaters.
Oversized Coats, Short Dresses, and Booties are another current AW trend. Try the Cocoon Coat over an Asta jersey dress and booties, or style the Cocoon coat with leather leggings or pants.
Who doesn't love a festive coat for the holidays? The Cocoon Coat and this lovely red boiled wool fabric feel perfect. Below I paired the coat with evening attire and contrasting dress colors.
I also recommend the Classic Coat which has a tailored look with lapels, full lining, welt, or patch pockets.
There are so many styling options for the Wardrobe by Me Cocoon Coat, and we would love to see yours. Please share on Instagram or Facebook and tag @wardrobebymepatterns #WBMcocooncoat on your makes.

One of the reasons we all love to wear jeans is their versatility. You can wear them all year round and be both comfortable and smart, depending on your choice of top and shoes. Wear them with t-shirt and sneakers, or dress them up with a beautiful shirt and a pair of heels, and you will be comfortable throughout a night of fun.
With Wardrobe By Me's new jeans patterns, you get a relaxed-classic-original fit with straight legs. Sew your jeans up in as many colors as you like and get a real versatile and valuable addition to your wardrobe.
Last but not least, people tend to think that making a pair of jeans is much more complex than it is, so you can for sure enjoy your friends and family's admiration. A new pair of favorite jeans that fit you perfectly and praise. Not a bad combo. 😊
- Measure twice, sew once... Check your measurements before choosing your size. Don't asume that you fit the same size as you would in RTW jeans.
- Choose your size based on your waist and hip measurements. If you are unsure of which size to make, measure a pair of your favorite jeans along the waistline, and choose the size based on the garment measurements.
- Wash your denim before use. Denim shrinks, and it would be sad to go through all the hard work, only to find your jeans have shrunk after the first wash.
- If your denim is heavy (12oz and more) you may want to skip interfacing, or use it ONLY on the fly. Test a swatch and see how it turns out.
- Use heavy denim thread (such as Gütterman 100) for all topstitching.
- Increase the stitch length for topstitching, and use the same stitch length consistently. Test the length before start.
- Use a denim or topstitching needle when sewing. Skip the double needle. It doesn't handle the thick fabric and the heacy thread well.
- Sew all topstitches from the RIGHT side.
- Do not backstitch, but pull the thread to the wrong side and tie the ends together.
- Shorten your zipper? This video from LTRL Trend - FashionGuru on Youtube, explains how to shorten a metal zipper.
Before sewing your jeans, the most critical decision you must make is your fabric choice.
We have curated a list of international shops that stock a wide variety of denim to make it easy to choose and buy your materials for making jeans. We have also added recommendations from our tribe on Facebook. If you have tips on where to buy good quality denim fabric in your area, please notify us in a comment below.

This year I know exactly what presents I'm sewing for Christmas for everyone in my family. Pajama pants for my husband, my dad, my mom, my kids, and my grandson. I may also make them a matching T-shirt. After all. That's a quick and easy sewing project and a great way to share my love of sewing with the entire family!
The Unisex Pajama pants sewing pattern has been a WBM favorite for a while now, and this year we have created a Kids version of the same, easy-to-make, one pattern piece, PJ pants. The Kids Pajama Pants sewing pattern runs in sizes 3-12Y, and the fit and sewing are identical to the Unisex PJ pants sewing pattern.
Sewing from an instructions book is great, sewing while watching a video makes the experience so much more fun!
We have created a video tutorial to accompany the PJ pants sewing pattern. No more lonely nights of sewing presents. Find the video how to sew Pajama Pants on YouTube. Don't forget to subscribe to our channel. We have sewing videos for many of our most popular sewing patterns and create new videos every month.
While PJ pants are fun, why not make a T-shirt to go with the PJ pants? We also created a video on how to sew a classic T-shirt. The video takes you through the steps of sewing a classic T-shirt. You can use any of our T-shirt sewing patterns:

It's been a while since we last released a Men's pattern. The Ozark Vest sewing pattern is the newest addition to our ever-growing collection of Men's sewing patterns.
The Ozark Vest sewing pattern is a fabulously versatile garment that works excellent on cool summer evenings but also looks and feels terrifically worn over a Hoodie or Sweater.
When looking at the tester's images, it is evident that the Ozark vest can be styled in many different and equally great-looking outfits. Likewise, the testers never cease to amaze me when making more detailed and eye-popping garments than I could have ever imagined.
These two Ozark vests both look fantastic. The blue one in canvas, with bright orange lining and matching topstitching, is a perfect urban vest for a young man. In tweed and grey matching lining, the other is a classic-looking vest for a more conservative type. I do love the orange hanger loop, and it's just enough to catch my eye.
The Ozark Vest Sewing pattern has no visible seams. Who doesn't love a good inside pocket? It's as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside.
The Topstitching adds a nice touch and creates a very professional-looking finished garment.
Look at all the pretty inside details. The sewing is fun, and the details of this Vest sewing pattern are unique. These two are in corduroy with a contrasting collar and lining.
It's time to gather your materials, get your sewjo on and make a cool new "OZARK VEST"
Here's a list of materials you need for the Ozark vest Sewing pattern:
The Ozark Vest Sewing pattern sells for 10 euros (reg 13) until Friday, November 12th, 2021. Go grab your copy now!

]]>We’ll walk you through how to sew a pair of pants in just 8 simple steps. You’ll be working with the Easy Shorts PDF pattern from Wardrobe by Me. This pattern is free to download, and with it you’ll be able to make your own pattern pieces for a pair of comfortable pants with an elastic waistband.
We ALSO have a video on YouTube where we sew the pants step by step, along with many other video sewing tutorials. You can find Wardrobe By Me's Youtube Chanel here.
The guide below will walk you through the process of making your first pair of pants. You’ll start with drafting a pattern before cutting out the pattern pieces. Finally, we’ll guide you through the 8 simple steps to sewing the pieces together and making a finished pair of pants.
Once you’ve learned how to work with the Easy Shorts pattern, you’ll be able to use it to sew many different kinds of pants: pajama pants, lounge pants—even dress pants.
So let’s get started! Follow the steps below and learn how to sew a pair of pants.
When choosing fabric for this project, you’ll want to choose fabric that’s woven, soft, and lightweight. These pants are meant to be comfortable, so we recommend using cotton, silk, viscose, or other soft and comfortable fabrics.
Before you cut into your favorite fabric, however, we recommend that you try and see if you have some old fabric lying around to practice on. You can use an old sheet, a curtain, or a similar piece of recycled fabric. This way, you can practice without worrying about ruining the fabric you’re going to use for the final project.
When you’re ready to use your favorite fabric, we recommend that you wash it first. This ensures that if the fabric shrinks, it won’t affect the fit of the pants you’re making.
For this project, the first thing you want to do is download the Easy Shorts PDF pattern—the pattern we’ll be drafting from and using for this project.
For a walkthrough of how to download and read the pattern, you can check out our video guide to sewing the Easy Shorts on YouTube. This video also shows you how each step in the sewing process should look—but we’ll get back to that later. For now, let’s focus on drafting the pattern for making your pants.
When you’re drafting your pattern, the first thing you need to do is to measure your waist and hip circumference. Based on your measurements, choose the pattern size that fits you. Then, print out the Easy Shorts in your chosen size and tape all the pages together.
Find your size and fabric requirements here.
IMPERIAL BODY measurements | 2XS | XS | S | M | L | XL | 2XL | 3XL | 4XL |
Natural Waist | 24.5 | 26.75 | 29 | 31.5 | 33.75 | 36 | 38.25 | 40.5 | 42.75 |
Hip | 30.75 | 33 | 35.25 | 37.5 | 39.75 | 42 | 44.25 | 46.5 | 48.75 |
REQUIREMENTS Fabric width 55”
Fabric | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 |
Elastic width 1.5”-1.75" | 25.25 | 27.5 | 29.75 | 32 | 34.25 | 36.5 | 38.75 | 41 | 43.25 |
METRIC body measurements
Natural waist | 62 | 68 | 74 | 80 | 86 | 92 | 98 | 104 | 110 |
Hip | 78 | 84 | 90 | 96 | 102 | 108 | 114 | 120 | 126 |
REQUIREMENTS Fabric width 140 CM
Fabric | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 2.5 |
Elastic width 3-4cm | 64 | 70 | 76 | 92 | 88 | 94 | 100 | 106 | 112 |
Now, you need to measure how long your legs are. That will give you an idea of how much you need to lengthen the shorts to create a sewing pattern for a pair of pants. Measure yourself at the side from the waistline to the floor.
For this walkthrough, we’ll be basing the pants on the Easy Shorts in size L. That means we’ll draft the pattern with a side length of 42.5" / 108 cm, including seam allowance.
Start with a piece of paper (or several pieces taped together). As the sheet of paper must be able to hold the entire pants leg, it should be at least 47" / 120 cm long and 31" / 80 cm wide. And that’s it—you now have a pattern for a pair of pants. You must also use the waistband from the Easy shorts pattern. Now, let’s move on to the part you’ve been waiting for: how to sew your first pair of paints.
You can sew along on
This way, you can see exactly what each step should look like—and that’ll make it much easier for you to learn how to sew your own pants. Let’s get into it!
Congratulations on finishing your first pair of pants! We hope you’ve enjoyed the process. And now that you have your Easy Shorts pattern, you can use it to make many different kinds of pants.
So what’s next? Well, if you’ve caught the sewing bug like us, you won’t want to stop at learning how to sew pants. If you’d like to try your hand at more sewing projects, you can find plenty of PDF patterns on our website.
If you want to see our patterns in action, you can subscribe to the Wardrobe by Me YouTube channel. We upload new videos every month, so you’ll have plenty of tutorials to learn from. And finally, you can visit our blog for more tips, tricks, and news from the world of sewing. Happy crafting!
]]>A small hat and a big hat. We have all head sizes covered in one pattern.
If there's one word of advice you need for sewing a good hat, You need to be patient and carefully pin all the pieces together. The different pattern pieces have opposite curves that work against each other. Use many pins, and sew slowly.
If you want to make a more structured hat, adding heavy interfacing will give your hat more structure.
Here's an example of how such a hat looks.
Interested in learning to sew? We can’t blame you. Sewing is a fun, creative, and fulfilling hobby—and an extremely useful skill. From mending and altering clothes to creating handmade gifts for friends and family, being able to sew allows you to tailor your everyday life to fit your personal style.
Of course, learning to sew may seem a daunting endeavor. You don’t own sewing supplies or fabric, and you don’t know how to use a sewing pattern. But fret not: learning how to sew doesn’t have to be difficult.
In this entry, we’ll guide you through the basics of sewing for beginners. From finding supplies to choosing the right beginner projects, you’ll find everything you need to get started on your sewing journey.
Before you start your first sewing project, you need the right supplies. Below, you will find a list of the beginners’ supplies you need:
The list above may look intimidating—especially if you’re on a budget. However, when you’re just getting started, you shouldn’t invest in expensive supplies right away. You can always do that once you’re sure that sewing is for you.
Fortunately, gathering your supplies doesn’t have to be a costly affair. For example, you don’t have to purchase a length of expensive fabric for your first project. Instead, repurpose an old sheet that you would otherwise have thrown out and use it for practicing sewing.
When looking for patterns, you can find free PDF patterns online. The great thing about PDF patterns is that you don’t have to search far and wide for the pattern you need. There are countless free sewing patterns available online. Once you’ve found your pattern, you simply download it and print it at home, and you can get started on your project right away.
In addition, the sewing pattern will always tell you what fabric you need to use for the project. This is important: using the wrong fabric for your project won’t give you the desired result. This way, having the information you need on hand saves you both time, money, and unnecessary frustration.
If you have friends or relatives who sew, you can also ask them if you can borrow their patterns and supplies. They may even have a sewing machine you can use.
If you want to get your own sewing machine, we recommend that you buy it secondhand—that way it’ll be a much more affordable investment. And should you lose interest in sewing, you can always resell the machine without losing too much money on it.
It goes without saying that before you can start sewing, you need to know how to use your sewing machine. Since every sewing machine is unique, the best way to learn to use yours is to start with the user manual. This will teach you how to thread the machine and use the pedal properly.
If you’ve borrowed your sewing machine from a friend or bought it secondhand, you might not have the manual for the machine. But don’t worry—manuals aren’t hard to find. Most major manufacturers of sewing machines offer their manuals as free PDF downloads on their website. Sites like Libble also offer free downloads of manuals for many different sewing machines.
You can also find many old manuals for purchase online. Resellers generally offer them for less than $25, which is well worth the investment.
To find the right manual for your sewing machine, you need to know the brand and the model number of the machine. The model number is usually on the back or the bottom of the machine. If you’re struggling to find it, try emailing the manufacturer a photo of your sewing machine. Most manufacturers will be more than happy to help you find the manual you need.
Once you’ve got the hang of threading your sewing machine and using the pedal, it’s only natural that you want to get started on your dream project immediately. However, when you start your first project, it’s important not to bite off more than you can chew.
Starting off with something easy—e.g. a tote bag—allows you to practice the basics of sewing without getting overwhelmed by complicated patterns or stitches. It doesn’t take long to finish, meaning you can usually complete the project in one sitting. This gives you something to show for your efforts, and you’ll feel accomplished and motivated to start your next project.
For your first beginner’s clothing project, we recommend that you start with the Easy Shorts. This PDF pattern is free to download. It describes in detail how to print your pattern, tape it together, cut it, and sew the shorts.
If this sounds intimidating, don’t worry—you won’t be doing it alone. While you tackle this project, you can watch our full guide to sewing the Easy Shorts on YouTube. This way you can see exactly how the instructions work in practice.
When you’re ready to start learning sewing, there are several ways you can go about it. If you prefer the traditional approach, many local sewing shops offer lessons in store. You could also look for a centre that offers evening classes you can attend after work. Another option is to find a tutor who gives private lessons or ask a friend or relative to show you the ropes of sewing.
Of course, these learning methods can be difficult to fit into a busy schedule. But that doesn’t mean you have to give up your dream of sewing: you can always take sewing lessons online.
One of the best resources for learning sewing is YouTube. On YouTube, you can find countless channels dedicated to sewing. The Wardrobe by Me Youtube channel is a good place to start. Here, you’ll find video tutorials for sewing great beginner projects like the Easy Shorts mentioned above.
We upload new videos every month, so you have plenty of tutorials to learn from. You can also visit our blog for more tips, tricks, and news from the world of sewing.

]]>Garment sewing has a lot to do about love- the love to create, love of fashion, or simply making something special for yourself or someone you love. This week, I was excited to interview Christina Albeck, founder of the Denmark- based Wardrobe By Me pattern company. The company's byline is "because we love sewing," and it's easy to see why. With just a quick look through the classic styles that they offer, the care that is put into each one of their patterns is evident.
Christina was taught as a child to sew from her mother and anyone else who was willing to share their knowledge with her. As an adult, she went to fashion college to become a designer, but learned that pattern making was where her passion lied. In her 25 years in the fashion industry, Christina worked in California, then returned to Denmark where she continued to work in fashion and taught pattern making. As a freelancer, she was able to gain a wide experience in men's, women's and children's wear.
After working for years in the fast-paced fashion industry, Christina grew tired of "fast fashion"- the constant need for making new styles at low cost without focusing on the details. She says, "Wardrobe By Me grew out of a desire to slow things down, make a lasting product, and create styles that are fun to sew and flattering to wear. The garments you reach for every day and plan to recreate over and again."
Wardrobe By Me is all about beautiful, classic style, and their goal is to design styles that suit the body and to create a collection of wardrobe essentials that can be used again and again. In their women's line, they boast more than sixty contemporary patterns that are easy-to-wear and perfect for any day of the year.
I was eager to try one of their women's patterns for myself, and quickly settled on the Grace Dress and Tunic Pattern. This pattern features a banded collar and gathers at the neckline and back. The beautiful gathers at the shoulder are so flattering, as is the hidden tie band in the waist seam. While this pattern has the option for a lovely cuffed long sleeves or a ruffled skirt, I chose the ruffled cuff variation with a straight skirt. This was such a wonderful and easy-to-follow pattern. Every step was clearly explained, and the finishes were professional and gorgeous. I think my favorite feature has to be the beautiful tie neckline- it's such a classic look! I made mine with a lightweight wool dobby fabric for summertime, but this pattern could just as easily be adapted for winter with a different fabric choice. I absolutely love this dress!
Wardrobe By Me also features adorable unisex children's patterns in classic styles. They've kicked off this summer season by adding two new patterns to their children's collection, the Kid's Tropical Shirt and Kid's Woven Pants patterns. These two new patterns are indicative of the designs at Wardrobe By Me- comfortable and perfect for everyday, yet stylish, modern and perfect for special occasions too!
Christina has so much to be proud of in regard to Wardrobe By Me. She receives reviews from her customers all over the world who tell her how much they love the styles the company offers, and it's easy to see why! And there's a lot to look forward to in the future- they have expanded their content for their Youtube channel, Wardrobebyme, to include step-by-step videos of their most popular sewing patterns being sewn. Customers have been really loving these helpful videos, and the team has a lot of fun making them as well.
As for their men's line, they have twenty-five patterns in a modern urban style that include everything from T-shirts, sweaters, shirts, pants, shorts, underwear, and jackets. Recently, one of the their men's patterns, the Overshirt, was even featured on this year's British Sewing Bee.
The Men's Classic Cardigan was a pattern that caught my eye right off the bat. It has such a cool, retro feel with it's cuffed long sleeves and relaxed fit. The pattern features two different neckline options, a buttoned or plain placket edge, and optional patch pockets. I sewed up a shawl collared version with a plain placket for my dad in brushed French Terry, and he loves it! The relaxed fit is perfect for him to throw over a shirt on cold morning out or relaxing around the house. I loved how easy this was to sew! The instructions were clear and easy-to-follow, and I was excited to be able to easily get the perfect fit for my dad.
Wardrobe By Me also has plans to keep adding new patterns and exciting new styles for their customers. Last year, they expanded into offering some of their most popular patterns into paper format. Christina says, "I'm very excited about seeing the paper patterns in local shops around the world. Being present where customers also buy their fabric is a unique opportunity to connect."
Wardrobe By Me is an amazing pattern company, with a catalog full of patterns that are perfect for any sewist, beginner to advanced. Their patterns are all beautiful, classic, and full of the details that made so many of us fall in love with garment sewing in the first place.

The Mirri Wrap Dress PDF sewing pattern is a very beautiful jersey dress with pretty front pleats. It's a little bit tricky to get the pleats folded in the right direction. To help you here is a step by step picture tutorial.
We also have a video tutorial on YouTube where we sew the Mirri Jersey Dress step by step.
The trick is to fold the excess in the right direction.
Place the right front piece with the backside of the fabric up.
Grab and fold the first pleat.
Fold and secure the pleat. Start the next pleat where I'm pointing!
Fold and secure again.
Then fold the last pleat. This is how it looks from the back side:
And when you turn the fabric with the right side up, this is how the pleats look when folded correctly.
]]>Have you ever wondered what to sew with Double Gauze or Muslin?
I have been in love with the soft, airy fabric for a couple of years now, and I have purchased several meters of both the soft and wavy kind as well as the smooth surface kind from Nani-Iro and Atelier Brunette.
I LOVE the wavy sort because it is so soft to the touch, but I have had a tough time finding the perfect pattern for Double Gauze. The unstructured nature of the weave makes it hard to use for turning plackets and collars, but the comfort of the fabric against the skin is just outstanding.
Double gauze is simply two layers of gauze combined into one layer. While the lightness and the airiness are preserved, the double layer ads substance without transparency.
The two layers are fused with invisible stitches. The loose weave in both layers makes the double gauze breathable and airy while adding a little weight and fullness to it, and shaping up nicely and with excellent draping properties. Finishing the edges with a zigzag or a serger is crucial, as the fabric is prone to unraveling.
We have designed a new pattern, especially for Double Gauze or Muslin fabric. The Whisper Blouse and Dress PDF sewing pattern is a super simple design, a high-speed project, followed by many days of wearing. It's light as a feather and soft as a whisper.
I have asked the testers from around the world where to shop for Double Gauze or Muslin. I know you will be able to find Nani-Iro from shops around the world. A simple Google search, " Nani Iro double gauze," will get you there.
If you are in Europe, checking out FabFab is a must. They have a large selection of Double Gauze fabric and webshops in 15 European countries.
On Etsy, you can find a multitude of smaller shops offering Double Gauze in just about any shape size and print. This segmented link only shows shops in Europe. You can segment from where ever you are making sure to find a shop where the fabric won't get stuck in customs. Here is what my search on Etsy came up with.
In the United States, The Gauze fabric store has amazing Double Gauze Muslin in a variety of densities and a fantastic spread of colors. If you go to their shop on Etsy, they do ship internationally.
The Funky Monkey, Based in Canada is a beautiful source for Double Gauze Fabric
Finally, I HAVE to mention the fabulous shop in Singapore, Nekoneko. They have a HUGE selection of Double Gauze Fabrics from many different Asian makers. Every time I browse their collections, I want EVERYTHING!
As Wardrobe By Me has customers from ALL AROUND THE WORLD, I have focused on stores that are easy to access from anywhere. From my tiny spot on the globe, Denmark, we do have one shop that I would like to feature. MeterMeter specializes in sustainability and carries fabric and sewing patterns from a wide range of international designers. They ship within Europe. and while you're there, they also carry Wardrobe By Me's collection of paper patterns.
I combed through the Wardrobe By Me Pattern gallery to try and find other patterns that work great with Double Gauze or Muslin.Sille Blouse PDF Sewing Pattern Perfect Tunic PDF Sewing Pattern
Esther Blouse PDF Sewing Pattern
Piper Boho Tunic PDF Sewing Pattern
As you can see, they are all in the straight flat version of Double Gauze, but Esther Blouse PDF sewing pattern would sew up really nice in the crinkly kind as well.

Have you ever wondered how a design is created?- Me too (Just kidding ;-))...
The new Balloon Cardigan PDF sewing pattern started in a completely different direction. I was supposed to be a classic boyfriend cardigan in several lengths.
I made a sample, but unfortunately, I burnt a BIG hole on the backside of the sample one COLD evening while standing in front of the fireplace. (Note to self, don't stand too close to burning objects while wearing garments sewn from mystery fabric from the stash), I started sketching some different variations of the design, and I came up with this little drawing.
The WBM Core testers ( They are my favorite group of testers, always helpful and honest) knew that I was working on a cardigan, but their response to this one was just so overwhelmingly positive, that I decided to go in this direction instead. One of them asked if we could also make a version with a high round neckline.
Well, No doubt both were cute and very easy to style. I ended up sewing three in total, and I realized that the very roomy balloony silhouette would also be perfect for woven fabric. In woven fabric, it has more of a "Blouse" feel rather than a cardigan.
The Bishop sleeve on the Balloon Cardigan is such a big fashion trend for 2020 and I'm very pleased that we have managed to move on the look at such an early point in time.
We had a big group of testers, many made several cardigans, I think it has a unique combination of comfort while looking very feminine. The short-cropped version really enhances the waistline and the longer version is cozier.
When choosing fabric, be creative! Some testers made their Balloon cardigans in French Terry, and in my opinion, French Terry lacks some of the drama inherent to the design. On the other end of the spectrum, the very thin jerseys or fancy knits ads a very exclusive look to the Cardigan.
