    Printing information

Measure the size of the square on the first pattern page and check that your printer's scaling is correct (2" x 2" / 5 cm x 5 cm). Use either A4 or Letter and print the document via Adobe Acrobat reader. Download it here for free.

Measure the circumference of your head with a finger under the tape. Make sure to measure your head where the circumference is the biggest. Choose the size that best fits. If your head size is in between two sizes, then size up. If your fabric is heavy, you should also consider sizing up. Finally, if you plan on making your hat reversible, using canvas on both sides rather than just lightweight cotton lining, you should consider going up one size.

    Best hat pattern

Really like it, I made both types, but I am not a fan of binding, prefer turning it through an opening, so I would suggest the an update of the pattern with an option for turning, I guess this mean a widening of the brim to include seam allowance for this. I would also suggest to add the option of a sweat band on the inside of the hat. Another expansion could be to add an elastic drawstring that runs inside the decorative band with an opening in the back, so that you can adjust for a hat that is to large for you.

    Great Pattern

It is an easy to follow pattern, and the hat turned out exactly as expected. The sizing was spot on, and the hat fit my husband perfectly. I've only sewn one so far, but I think a few people on my Christmas list will have safari hats under the Christmas tree this year :-)

    Addictive Pattern

Quick, stylish, straightforward, and using just a few small pieces of fabric.... after making one I quickly made 4 😳😂. Being patient with the curved seams really pays off for a professional, clean look. Now I feel empowered seeing this type of hat everywhere, knowing that I can make them myself 💪
