The Canvas Jacket is a sewing pattern that takes inspiration from workwear and has a boxy and casual fit. It can be used as an outerwear piece in transitional weather or as a modern alternative to a classic cardigan for a day in the office. The jacket features two-piece sleeves that are roomy enough to layer over a knit during colder months. The Canvas Jacket looks great with chunky topstitches, and it's perfect for woven fabrics like canvas, denim, corduroy, or cotton drill.

The model is 172 cm tall and wearing a jacket in size 8/38.

      Came together perfectly!

First time using a Wardrobe By Me pattern - came together so easily and written instructions were great but I did refer to the YouTube instructions a few times and they got me out of any ‘how do I do this’ moments 🤣. The front deep pockets are fantastic. I made it in a heavy cotton drill for my daughter so skipped the front buttonholes and it looks great. Will be making it again for sure.

      Great jacket pattern.

Good instructions and the sew along YouTube video made the sewing of the jacket a breeze. Jacket fitted well. Only alteration I made was to shorten the sleeves by 2”.

      Lovely pattern with great results

I worked slowly through this pattern, carefully checking the instructions at each step as I hadn’t made a jacket before. Some of the processes, like the sleeve placket construction, were new to me but I still ended up with a very wearable jacket. The application of the collar made me scratch my head a bit but I looked up the video tutorial which made it much easier to understand. I used a plain cotton drill for the main jacket with a contrast fabric on the reverse collar, sleeve facings & back internal yoke. When I wore it for the first time my husband asked if I had bought a new jacket. He was surprised that I had made it & thought it looked very professional- probably the best compliment I could have wished for!

      Roomy stylish casual jacket

I made this jacket in a chunky corduroy and it was perfect. Easy instructions and great fit. Its nice and roomy to layer under, especially in the sleeve area.Pockets are great to put things in when I go for a walk. I used a lighter fabric to line the inner yoke and outer collar for good looks.

      Versatile perfect fit!

Wow I got 3 compliments in a matter of 2 hours wearing my canvas jacket! I used a bright patterned fabric ( well not canvas but similar weight) . I love how I can create different mood looks by turning the color up or down, cuffs turned , fully buttoned or not. You will not be sorry to sew this jacket.
