Jeans that fit are a Pleasure!

My husband finally asked me (conceded) to make him some jeans style pants. I found this pattern and with quick grading between sizes I was able to make him 2 (so far) pair of cotton twill pants that finally fit his very slender backside without being tight at his waist. He is thrilled and wants more now! This is was a very well drafted pattern with excellent instructions and video to follow. I added french seams to enclose pocket bags and for the next pair I will likely try true flat felled seams at the rise, yoke and inseam instead of overlocking and top-stitching for a flat felled look. What simple and fantastic front fly closure this has, much easier than I have tried in the past... and my husband loves the depth of the fly enclosure, much better than ready-to-wear purchases. Now I want to try the women's for myself!

I get so frustrated watching my partner's r.t.w. jeans sliding off all the time; finally taking things into my own hands! With typical WBM still this pattern lets you confidently measure and blend to get the right fit, and I loved personalizing the embroidery on his pockets :) I found the fly a bit tricky (it was my first real fly effort ever) but I made it through with the WBM youtube video and only having to unpick once (should have watched the video first). Enjoy!!

        Custom jeans for the win!

My husband loves jeans but finding ones with a good fit in a fabric that makes them suitable for work can be a challenge. These are the most comfortable jeans he now owns and are in a colour that meets the boss's approval!

        Great fit

I made the men version. I found this pattern very easy to work with (video for fly zipper is available on the site if needed). I've never made a jean before but just by following the steps my husband got a perfect fit. I sewed the biggest size, just made a flat butt adjustment.

        His best looking jeans

As my first attempt at sewing jeans I couldn't be happier!
I found the whole process pretty fun and easy, also thanks to the zipper video - it helped a lot - and the result is my husband is very very happy about the fit and the overall looking.
Please make sure to use a big jeans needle to use topstitch thread and smooth the sewing.
Will be making more pairs for spring!!
