Can’t wait to make another Utility Jacket!

This is a great pattern. I procrastinated 4 months (pattern was printed, taped, cut out, material was purchased, all sitting there waiting on me). When I finally got started though, the instructions were perfect. It took me less than two weeks to sew this, and I only did one or two steps at a time at first. And I put pockets on sidewise, and sewed half of the zipper in wrong! Don’t let 32 steps intimidate you - it is much easier because of the way it is broken down. There is a lot of top stitching - I used a matching color, which made it easier. I made a size small for my 20-something daughter (who wears med-large in ready-to-wear), and it is a perfect fit. This works great as a unisex pattern, and I’m already planning to make one for myself!

        Perfekt fritidsjakke.

        Well designed, classic jacket!

This Utility Jacket pattern is well thought out and designed well. There are a lot of pattern pieces to cut out - I was intimated at first but was pleased to discover that there are specific pattern pieces for the left and right side of the jacket thus leading to the large number of pattern pieces. Follow the instructions step by step and the resulting jacket will be a timeless piece for your wardrobe!

        Brilliant pattern, Super versatile

I initially made this for my husband out of a lighter cotton tencel. He loves it, it's casual yet dressy enough when made out of the right fabric. All the pattern pieces came together like magic and will be making the next one for me. Lots of pattern pieces so I'd advise to print the A0 size at a local printers if you're able to. Love that there's a lining for the bodice as it makes the finish inside so professional. The instructions are clear and detailed, learnt some new techniques along the way. Might also do some contrast top stitching for the next one. so many possibilities!
