    Love my Marilyn

I made the Marilyn Bombshell Bikini a year ago and took it on my holiday this year again. It fits perfectly. Even with jumping in the water everything stayed where it was supposed to stay. And since my fabric didn‘t like salt water I will make a new one this year.

    LOVE THE MARILYN!

This was my first attempt at making a bikini and it was so much easier than I thought it would be, plus it was fun to be able to make something for an adult out of just a half a meter of fabric for change! I am so amazed at how good the fit is because I have never been able to find a RTW bikini that fits me well. So from now on this will be my go to bikini pattern!

    Cute and comfortable!

I made the Marilyn in both the retro high waisted option as well as the more contemporary low waisted option. Both are really comfortable and stylish! The leg openings with elastic are spot on, this is an area I find can be hard to fit in store bought swimsuits. The backside has a cute cut that stays put but at the same time offers a trendy line. I like the flattering side panel that eliminates the side seam.
I made the C/D cup and used 3/8" elastic (personal preference) and that worked beautifully for my 36C bust. The halter is cut nicely and doesn't bother my neck. I did add soft foam cups because I personally prefer that but I think it would work well without them as well.
All in all I love the style of this suit. It was an easy sew with professional looking results. I like the thought that went into the finishing. I will definitely make more this summer!!
