    Printing information

Measure the size of the square on the first pattern page and check that the scaling of your printer is correct (2” x 2” / 5 cm x 5 cm). Use either A4 or Letter and print the document via Adobe Acrobat reader. Download it here for free.

Measure the circumference of your head with a finger under the tape. Make sure to measure your head where the circumference is the biggest.  Choose the size that best fits. If your head size is in between two sizes, then size up. If your fabric is on the heavy side, you should also consider sizing up. Finally, if you plan on making your hat reversible, using canvas on both sides rather than just lightweight cotton lining, you should also consider going up one size.

    Great Pattern

It is an easy to follow pattern, and the hat turned out exactly as expected. The sizing was spot on, and the hat fit my husband perfectly. I've only sewn one so far, but I think a few people on my Christmas list will have safari hats under the Christmas tree this year :-)

    Addictive Pattern

Quick, stylish, straightforward, and using just a few small pieces of fabric.... after making one I quickly made 4 😳😂. Being patient with the curved seams really pays off for a professional, clean look. Now I feel empowered seeing this type of hat everywhere, knowing that I can make them myself 💪

    All day long hat

I am not a hat person at all. But I tried this one and was very wary . Can you believe it was a stroll in the park? This fun project just inspired me to try more exciting colors till I had to reprimand myself😂. I wear this hat inside and outside the house, do not even feel it but I look fancy👍

A pattern for a great fit

I've only sewn a handful of hats in my career, but still, this is definitely the best pattern I've ever used for one. I think what really sets it apart for me is the precise sizing; you can get your perfect fit without tweaking the pattern. Also, the "safari" brim creates such a great shape that I haven't run into in a sewing pattern before.

This is a really great quick-gratification project, for when you want to sew something without it being a huge undertaking. And it requires very little fabric, so the whole thing is relatively easy on the wallet.

    What a hat!!

We are in love with the Safari/Bucket hat design. The Safari hat was a hit for my friend and myself. Orbey has requested one in black, I'll make a black one for me too. Instructions are very easy to read and follow along. Great hat!! These hats make great gifts for the whole family.
