I have just made a Piper Tunic for a friend. I made View C although I changed the neck line to a Vee neck and added a flounce to 3/4 sleeves. I will be making one for myself shortly. It’s a very easy pattern to make up with great instructions.
I bought the polo pattern not intending at this stage to make a traditional jersey polo shirt. I wanted to make a more typical short-sleeved shirt in a woven cotton fabric with a polo placket. With some encouragement I combined pattern pieces from the Tropical Shirt including the yoke, with the placket and collar from the polo. I also extended the placket and sewed it on with the right on outside and left inside the shirt. In my mock up the sleeves were a little short so I took the Jensen Shirt sleeve and copied the top from the Tropical Shirt sleeve to fit the armscye. All in all the experiment was a success!
I am a beginner when it comes to pattern editing/creating but I found with a bit of care and thought it is rewarding, and easy to mix and match with wardrobe by me's patterns.
Comes together beautifully.
The PDF file was easy to open and access. The instructions and video look very informative. I won’t be making the fleece until later in the year. When I have made it I will post a further review
I love the shape of this costume. It's really flattering and so comfortable. Will definitely make more.
Love this pattern. I made the shirt and I loved the instruktions from the YouTube video.
I'm from Germany- so sorry about my english. I searched hard for this pattern. It was not easy to find one with this comfy buttsolution. The instructions are easy to understand, the sewing was also an easy thing and i'm a beginner. I love the boxers.I wear them in bed and now my husband ordered one too.
Definitly will sew more of them!
I like the final result.
Pattern was very easy to use and follow along with. The accompanying YouTube video is fantastic for less experienced folk to see how it all comes together.
My husband loves his birthday shirt! He says it's his favourite shirt I've made him. I've made him 3 using a different pattern each time.. This pattern is the winner! I'll be making another one with linen. I chose the size L based on the finished garment measurements listed. I shortened the length by 3" and re-spaced the buttonholes/buttons 4" apart. My husband is 5'6". I didn't make a toile.
It was an easy make for me. Thanks for an awesome pattern!!
This is a superb pattern. You can create a whole wardrobe of T shirts with this one pattern. For me, being slight, the fitted style is perfect in the body. the adjustment I made was in the length as I am short. The instructions are very clear. Enjoy!!!
Excellent pattern. Easy to follow, quick to make up, fit is great. - especially appreciated the additional suggestion for stitching on the sleeve. The sizing on the chart was exact - i wanted a sweater a little more fitted which the finish sizing gave me. The raglan sleeve was easy to sew and fantastic for the more curvier build. (No full bust adjustment required) Because the pattern just works - it's a great base to play with color and pattern blocking.
Although I'm by now quite experienced, this pattern could reasonably be made very successfully by a confident beginner. The instructions are clear, and include the mysteries of "bagging out" a fully lined waistcoat, which can readily be aplied to other patterns whose instructions are less clear. The finished garments are stylish, comfortable, warm, arms-free practical, and the envy of many friends. Garments, plural; I like this pattern so much I have made four so far. Using high-quality materials (Donegal or Harris tweed, sateen cotton lining and cotton wadding for quilting) costs were about UK£45, compared to £225 for a very similar RTW gilet I had purchased a few months earlier. My only minor criticism is around sizing, and this is not specific to WBM, but the entire fashion industry, which seems to have strange misconceptions about the size and shape of men's bodies. The size needed to fit me comfortably over a flannel shirt (no pullover) proved to be XL. At 1.72m tall and 73kg I am noticeably smaller than average, so that really ought to be considered M or S. Genuinely big men are not catered for, which is a shame.
This was the first pair of pants I’ve ever made and I am absolutely blown away with how well they fit and feel without requiring any adjustments. These are my new favorite pants and I’m making another pair now. Highly recommend!🌟
This pattern makes up into a very professional looking shirt. Using the chest measurement as most important, I shortened the body by 2 inches to correspond to my husband’s height and added a bit of length to the sleeves. I used a summer weight linen and wanted a loose, breezy silhouette but not sloppy. It is perfect, The instructions are adequate & video backup is helpful. Highly recommended!,
