Looking for a small sewing project that makes the most of your fabric scraps? This sleep mask is a lovely way to turn leftover fabric into something useful, beautiful, and wonderfully personal. With just a small piece of fabric, some batting, lining, and elastic, you can create a soft, quilted mask for a better night's sleep.

What you need:

| Fabric (any fabric will do) | 10" × 6" | 30 × 61 cm |
| Batting | 10" × 6" | 25 × 15 cm |
| Lining (something nice against the face) | 10" × 12" | 25 × 30 cm |
| Elastic 1/2" / 1 cm wide | 16–17" | 40–42 cm |
Cut the fabric:
- Cut out fabric, batting, and lining with the square template
- Cut out one piece of fabric for the elastic casing: 24 x 2" / 61 x 5 cm
Quilt the fabric
- Place the lining with the wrong side up, place the batting on top, and the main fabric with the right side up.
- Pin the layers together, and quilt the fabric in any pattern you like!

- Use the sleep mask pattern piece and cut it from quilted fabric, and cut one piece of lining in the same shape. Cut a small snip on each side at the notch.

Elastic casing
- Fold and sew the elastic casing RSF. Flip it right side out.
- Thread it through the casing.
- Secure the elastic at both ends of the casing and trim.

Complete the eyemask
- Align the elastic casing with the notch and baste it to the side of the eyemask.
- Pin and sew the lining RSF the quilted eyemask; leave an opening in the seam of 2"/ 5cm.

- Flip it right side out.

- Hand-stitch the opening.

- Complete the sleep mask with a cute bow, hand-stitched to the sides, or embellish with an embroidered signature.
