Fabulous jacket!

I have sewn this jacket three times in as many weeks. I LOVE it. I love that is a unisex pattern which I can make for anyone. It fits my style perfectly. So far I’ve tried canvas, furnishing weight curtain fabric and a vintage loose weave curtain and all of them showcase the designs on the fabric beautifully. I’ve hacked it in places with welt pockets and lined cuffs. I’ve not made any fit adjustments for my 5’2”, Uk size 16 (no bust adjustment). Just a roomy xl which suits me just fine. I can sew this in my sleep now. The instructions are good to follow. I don’t bind my edges, rather use a tight overlock stitch because I’m lazy. I also overlock all my raw edges because I’m lazy and I like the contrast. I don’t interface everything depending on the weight of the fabric I’m using. So glad I found this pattern. It’s my favourite.

Painter Jacket

Love this design. I used a navy blue twill for the main body and a dark blue denim for the collar and facings as I had these fabrics left over from a previous make. I lengthened it by 5cms and made an HRB adjustment which worked well.
