Nice shorts. With the video quite easy to sew, although this was my first project with zipper and different types of pockets.
One disappointment- It was not that easy to identify the sizes. Maybe color pattern would help.
love your pattern haven't been able to put it to use just yet. (here's the "hate' part) Ran out of ink for printer lol haven't been able to make it to town with money for more :D
But the process was great enjoyed the quick download and information is very easy to understand...
Will buy from again definitely !!!
I love this pattern.
I made these up in medium weight linen for the summer.
I omitted the cargo and rear welt pockets.
The size from the pattern fitted me just fine.
I thoroughly recommend this pattern....!
I made two pairs of these, one for my partner (size 36) and one for my 12yo son (size 29). I omitted the seat reinforcement and the cargo pockets as neither of them wanted those features.
I french seamed the pocket linings, and will make the front pockets a little deeper for next time by request. The cut-on waistband is beautifully drafted and shaped. I found that the zip length for the size 36 was too short - it needs a 6 inch zip I think.
I'm going to look at doing a pleat front for my partner next time as the pockets are pulling forward, and he generally purchases pleat fronts for himself. I'd also like to try out a variation with a nice inset coin pocket.
These cargo shorts are great!!
loving the unusual folds for the side pockets, and they fit perfectly (followed the chart in the doc)
However, I've spotted 2 errors in the pdf instructions whilst making my first pair :
step 11 : the lining and facing should be sewn both facing up (currently says to saw them both wrong side facing but lining will end being inside out if using a patterned fabric - simply flip the lining facing up so the facing sits with wrong side on it)
step 30 : it's a copy paste from step 28, where it should be instruction on how to sew button and buttonhole.
Hope this helps!
