Christina's sewing journey began with curiosity and creativity. In 1990, she moved from Denmark to the US to study design, before returning home to Denmark to work in the fashion industry and later teach patternmaking.

These years built strong technical expertise and a deep appreciation for what makes sewing empowering: the ability to create garments that truly fit. Teaching patternmaking also highlighted how valuable explicit instruction and thoughtful design are for people learning the craft.

After years in the fast-paced fashion industry, Christina grew tired of the trend cycle that prioritized novelty over garments that make people feel confident and comfortable. Discovering PDF sewing patterns and the inspiring community around them became a turning point.

Fueled by that discovery, Christina launched Wardrobe By Me in 2015 as a side hustle—without realizing just how much work and passion it would require. That spark set everything in motion.
