Love the outcome of this. I would like to try one in a plain woven instead of in gauze to see what it looks like. I graded out for my waist but the fit is generous and it wasn't necessary.
I attempted to make a summer dress using some drinkle double gauze I had bought for the purpose. What a mistake! It was completely the wrong fabric for the pattern. The facing wouldn't lie flat, and the gathered skirt was just too bulky. Double gauze has a mind of its own. I thought I could rescue enough fabric from the skirt to make a top, and discovered the Whisper blouse, a specially designed pattern by Wardrobe by Me for double gauze. I made the placket version, with tabbed sleeves, and found that the instructions beat the double gauze into submission. Brilliant! A wearable top rescued from disaster.
it's funny to write about it, but I sewed a wedding dress according to this pattern. The result gave me 100%
I did this in a crinkled black double gauze and............................it is magical! More on the way. Thank you!
